Provincial Track Championships 2019
Burnaby Velodrome Members were out in full force in Victoria BC this weekend for 2019 Provincial Track Championships. Our Vancouver local members managed to come home with jerseys, medals, smiles and personal bests in the timed events. In total BVC mainland Members individually brought home 16 Championship Jerseys and 18 additional podium placings for medals. The team events saw more jerseys and medals, but some Island riders played their parts in composition teams.
While the BVC is looking forward to its next opportunity to host Provincial Championships on the mainland, it’s so great to be able to have another venue for British Columbia riders to travel to and even better that we have another track community in our province to race, learn from and develop our athletes together to be well rounded racers. We’d like to extend our thanks to the Greater Victoria Velodrome Association for hosting this year’s Championships! We were very excited to see juniors up from Jerry Baker Velodrome outside Seattle to participate in racing too!
Our BVC Members set the bar high, looking in good shape to travel to Ontario for National Championships coming up at the end of September.
