BVC November Newsletter
It’s Official, Bare Bones is back!
Mark your calendars for an exciting race weekend starting Friday, Nov 15th, and running through Sunday, Nov 17th. Check out the poster below for all the details:
We’re thrilled to host major race weekends like Bare Bones, but they require plenty of hands to make them happen. That’s where our amazing community comes in! If you’re interested in volunteering to show up a few hours early on Friday to help set up please reach out to us at [email protected]. Your support makes events like this possible!
November & December Event Schedule
The next two months are packed with events for all skill levels! From Sprint & Endurance Clinics and Women’s Try the Track sessions to a full lineup of races, there’s something for everyone at the velodrome.
Stay tuned for more details on the BC Provincial Track Championships coming later this month!
Sports Science Blog Series
With the rain clouds rolling in and the leaves falling off the trees it’s the time of the year where many of us face seasonal illnesses. This week, PhD candidate, Normand Richard, dives into cycling and sickness in the latest addition to our sports science blog series. As always, you can find all the editions on our News page or head directly to the latest post at the link below.
Welcome The New Board of Directors!
A big thank-you to everyone who attended our Annual General Meeting last week! We’d also like to give a huge round of applause to both the returning and new members of our Board of Directors, who volunteer their time to keep the Burnaby Velodrome running smoothly.
We’re excited to welcome three new board members at large: John Mayr, Adam Reddy, and Spencer Mulder. To learn more about our board, check out the updated team page on our website down below.
That’s all for now, see you next month!
