B5 – Evan Richardson
Name: Evan Richardson
Bike: Cannondale CAAD 10
How long you have been riding road/track / Burnaby Velodrome:
I have been riding with DEVO for 3 years and have been a BVC member for 2.
What are your goals:
My main goals are to stay healthy, happy, and fit. More specifically to track racing my goal every Friday night is to beat my friends, preferably by pipping them at the line.
Something funny about your experiences on the bike or at the track, or how you got into track riding:
I found the sport of cycling in an unusual way. When I was 14 I suffered a serious knee injury. I had been playing competitive soccer my whole life and after recovering I never got back to the same level. Around the same time, my mom met Brian Storey through working together at a field school in Switzerland. He told my mom about DEVO and I joined the following fall. I started riding the track the same year and ever since then I have been in love with racing. I’m so glad I found this amazing community of people, and that I can compete in a fun and challenging environment.
What do you do outside of riding:
Outside of riding you’ll probably find me studying for my AP classes, playing board games with my friends, or practicing my guitar.
