Bare Bones Memorial – Pre-Racing Clinics
What’s that? You’re excited about hanging out with your awesome Burnaby Velodrome Club community at the next Bare Bones, but maybe you haven’t had your usual Friday Night Racing tune-up yet this season.
Don’t stress. We’ve got you! Whether you’ve been a FNR regular this season or not, we’ve had our awesome coaches put together a few workout-clinics with racing preparation specifically in mind. Brendan Cowley will lead the endurance workouts, with Keith Bruneau taking on the Sprint focused riders. Both endurance and sprint riders will have two separate workouts in the weeks before racing.
Endurance Riders:
Wednesday October 30, 2019 and Wednesday November 6, 2019 – Usual workout time slots by ability.
Brendan has devised a three part session (not included the motor-paced warmup) for each night. Week one features drills behind the motorbike designed to practice skills and tactics for the Points and Elimination. Capped off by a classic Motorpaced session. Week two features drills focusing on the Scratch and Elimination, again capped by a session behind the motorbike.
Sprinters:
Sunday October 27, 2019 and Sunday November 3, 2019 at 10:00AM-12:30PM
Keith will be focusing on proper techniques for riding Flying 200m efforts during week one. Week two will reinforce techniques, while reserving time and opportunity to talk and practice tactics for Sprint Events
