Bare Bones #2 Director’s report and results
The building was electric on Friday February 19th as well all packed into the end court. With over 70 riders entering on the Friday night we saw the most exciting racing of the season. During the night we saw all riders taking on a split scratch, chariot, belgian win and out, Italian pursuit, as well as a snowball.

We welcomed riders from across the pacific northwest and even further. Burnaby, Victoria, Seattle, Portland, and even as far as Minnesota! For our purely grass roots bike race weekend run entirely by volunteers. This was a race put on for the riders but it became much more and was a very exciting race to watch.
It is very difficult to put into words the excitement we had at the track during the weekend. I wish I could write about each race but that would quickly turn into a novel. All the way from Alex Hui pulling off that amazing acceleration in the B chariot to take the win, the leg crushing unknown points races ( blame Keith for how many sprints you did 😉 ), Italian pursuits that brought all categories together, proper track sprinting, to the cops and robbers event that saw John Willcox running away with all the money!
Thanks to all from the Burnaby Velodrome Club for supporting the Bare Bones #2

We all have to thank Keith Bruneau for all the work he put in to make the Bare Bones weekend happen. This weekend would not be possible without Keith. Keith published this thank you
“I would also like to thank the volunteers, Luis Bernhardt, Dale Marat, KhylOrser, and Gord Reddy
And a big thanks to the sick Mike Rothengatter, and Kirk McDowall, without the help from these guys prior to this event it would not have happened
I apologize if I have forgotten anybody, please inform me and I will edit this note.
I would also like to thank all athletes for riding this race with heart and professionalism, this race was run with the intention of it being a race for the riders, it ended up being a race to watch.
We will be posting results from all races in the next couple days.
Personally I would like to thank all the racers who traveled here just to ride in circles.
I also thank Fred and Cathy Rothengatter for bringing out the waffle iron.
See you all soon.
Keith Bruneau”
